Our warmest congratulations to Dr. Shannon Hanna, who works with Drs. Lenihan and Herr-Harthorn. He was just awarded a Postdoctoral Research Associateship through the National Research Council. Since 1954 the NRC has conducted a national competition in which it makes Research Associateship awards to outstanding scientists and engineers for tenure as guest researchers at federal laboratories. Beginning in September, Shannon will be working with Dr. Elijah Petersen to develop standardized toxicity tests for nanomaterials at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD. Shannon will build off of the skills and knowledge he obtained through his work with us and hopes to collaborate with CEIN in the near future.
